OPEN FOR APPLICATIONS
Location: East Sussex / Kent / Hybrid
Job Type: Part-Time / Freelance to start, with potential to become Full-Time
Compensation: £2,000–£3,000 per month, depending on experience, availability and responsibility
Create the content that makes hospitality brands impossible to ignore.
The Lobby is a hospitality growth agency helping hotels, restaurants, bars, cafés and experience-led venues become more visible, more desirable and more frequently booked.
We’re looking for a Head of Social & Content to help lead the creative output across our client accounts — from content strategy and social media management to on-location shoots, campaign ideas and hospitality storytelling.
This role is ideal for someone who understands social media, has strong creative taste, loves hospitality, and wants to create work that makes people say:
“I want to go there.”
The Role
As Head of Social & Content, you’ll help shape how our clients show up online.
You’ll plan content, manage social channels, come up with ideas, capture venues, brief editors, write captions and turn hospitality experiences into content that drives attention, desire and demand.
This isn’t just about posting on Instagram.
You’ll be helping hospitality brands fill rooms, tables and events through content that actually moves people.
What You’ll Be Doing
Creating monthly social media and content strategies for hospitality clients
Planning content calendars across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and Google Business Profile
Capturing photo and video content on-location at restaurants, bars, hotels, cafés and events
Creating Reels, TikToks, Stories, carousels and campaign content
Writing captions that feel premium, clear and on-brand
Managing social media accounts and scheduling content
Supporting event launches, menu launches, venue openings and seasonal campaigns
Helping clients promote rooms, tables, events, private hire and experiences
Working with editors, photographers, videographers and freelancers where needed
Monitoring content performance and spotting opportunities
Bringing creative ideas to the table every month
Helping shape the creative direction of The Lobby as a brand
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone with strong taste, creative instinct and a genuine interest in hospitality.
You don’t need to come from a big agency background.
You do need to understand what makes content feel desirable, what makes a venue worth visiting, and how to create social media content that feels premium rather than generic.
You’ll be a good fit if you are:
Creative and idea-led
Confident creating content
Comfortable filming on a phone or camera
Strong at short-form video
Good with Instagram, TikTok and social trends
Interested in restaurants, hotels, bars, cafés, travel and events
Organised enough to manage multiple content calendars
Comfortable working independently
Able to write clear, natural captions
Taste-led and visually aware
Excited by building premium hospitality brands
Training Provided
You won’t be expected to know everything from day one.
We’ll provide training around The Lobby’s hospitality growth framework, including how we think about content, demand creation, client delivery and campaign planning.
You’ll be trained on:
The Lobby’s approach to hospitality marketing
How to create content that drives attention, desire and bookings
How to plan monthly content calendars
How to audit hospitality brands
How to brief shoots and editors
How to report on content performance
How to support campaigns for events, launches, menus and venues
How to communicate with clients professionally
How to turn social media activity into real business outcomes
You’ll also get access to internal templates, checklists, SOPs and examples so you’re not figuring everything out from scratch.
The goal is to help you grow into a key creative role within The Lobby.
Bonus Points
Experience working with hospitality, lifestyle, travel, food or drink brands
Experience creating Reels or TikToks for businesses
Experience with photography or videography
Experience using CapCut, Canva, Premiere Pro, Final Cut or similar tools
Experience managing brand social media accounts
Experience with Meta Ads or paid social
Experience attending events or creating on-location content
Existing portfolio, Instagram or examples of creative work
What Makes This Role Different
This isn’t a desk-only social media role.
Hospitality happens in real places — hotels, restaurants, bars, events, launches, retreats, dining rooms, lobbies, terraces and private spaces.
As The Lobby grows, the role will involve travelling to venues across the UK and potentially beyond, capturing content, attending events, meeting hospitality teams and helping brands tell their story on-location.
You’ll be creating work around experiences people actually want to have.
Food. Drinks. Music. Rooms. Tables. Events. Travel. Culture. Atmosphere.
How We Work
The Lobby’s approach is built around one idea:
Successful hospitality brands create demand before customers are actively searching.
We help our clients do that through:
Attention — getting seen
Desire — getting remembered
Anticipation — getting booked
Community — getting guests coming back
Momentum — turning popularity into more popularity
Your role will be central to that system.
The content you create should not just look good.
It should make people want to visit.
What You’ll Get
Creative freedom
Hospitality-focused work
Training, templates and internal systems
Opportunities to travel for shoots, launches and events
A chance to shape the creative direction of a growing agency
Flexible working
Direct involvement with clients and campaigns
Work that goes beyond generic social media management
The opportunity to build a strong portfolio in hospitality, lifestyle and travel
Compensation
This role is freelance / part-time to start, with the potential to grow into a full-time position as The Lobby expands.
Compensation will depend on experience, availability and the level of responsibility you’re able to take on.
As a guide:
£2,000–£3,000 per month
Additional project fees, shoot days, travel expenses and performance-based bonuses may also be available depending on the client work involved.
We’re looking for someone who wants more than a one-off freelance gig — someone who can grow with The Lobby and become a key part of the creative team.
